Overview
LTI TruPulse laser rangefinders are high-quality field devices for measuring distances and heights. They are especially useful for collecting tree heights while cruising timber. MobileMap 4.3.52 and above supports LTI integration by directly reading tree height information from Bluetooth connected LTI TruPulse units, reducing data entry for height values and thus potential errors when typing in values.
Supported LTI Devices
All Bluetooth Compatible LTI laser rangefinders should be supported. Currently this integration has only been tested with the LTI TruPulse 200.
Connecting Your LTI Device to your Android Device
Follow these steps to connect your LTI TruPulse laser to your Android device:
Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your LTI TruPulse laser by following these steps from your LTI TruPulse user manual

Look for ‘TP200B-107632’ or similar in the list of available devices. The ‘TP200B’ in this device name stands for TruPulse 200 Bluetooth enabled. Your device name may be different, check with your TruPulse user manual.
Select your TruPulse device from the list, and enter in the PIN as ‘1111’. Note that the pin for your device may be different, check your TruPulse user manual.
Your TruPulse device should apear in the Pared Devices list

Configuring MobileMap to use your LTI Device
Follow these steps to configure MobileMap to use your TruPulse laser:
Ensure that the tree height field is correctly configured in MobileMap settings
Settings > MobileMap Cruise > Trees > Tree Height Field
The field name entered here should match the field name (not alias) of the field that will store tree height
Configure MobileMap’s Bluetooth connected devices
Actions > Configure Bluetooth
Select LTI TruPulse in the dropdown list next to the device name for your TruPulse device
Slide the toggle to enable this device
You should see a message saying that the device has been connected
Tap Done to close this setting
Collecting Tree Heights
To collect tree heights, follow the standard cruise workflow to edit a plot and open the tree list. When MobileMap is configured using the steps above, whenever a tree height field has focus (because it was tapped, because the Next button was used on the previous field, or because the focus auto-advanced after a popup was closed) the cell will change to Magenta to indicate that it is waiting for you to collect data with your TruPulse laser.
Follow the standard steps for collecting tree heights with your TruPulse laser using Height or Missing Line modes. When you complete the measurement, the TruPulse will automatically send the measurements to MobileMap. MobileMap will then populate the height field with the appropriate value. When using Missing Line mode, MobileMap will record the SD (Slope Distance) value. When using Height mode, MobileMap will record the Ht (Height) value.
Once MobileMap has received the height value from the TruPulse and updated the cell value, proceed with standard data collection by using the Next button or tapping on the next data entry cell.
Troubleshooting
If the height cell does not turn magenta, double check your tree height field setting
If the height cell does turn magenta but never populates with a value from your TruPulse, repeat the configuration steps above to ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your TruPulse, that the device is connected to your Android devices (Android Settings) and that MobileMap has been configured to use this device as an LTI TruPulse Laser. If you are still unable to collect height data using your LTI TruPulse please contact the support team.
