InventoryManager: Import Stand Features

Optional tools allows users to use the most up-to-date features for their cruise job by importing data that are being actively managed in another system.

Import Stand Shapefile to InventoryManager

One option for adding features to InventoryManager is to import a shapefile of stand polygons. The stand shapefile is uploaded as a compressed zipped file. The zipped file should comprise of one shapefile. There can be several stands/polygons in the shapefile, but only one shapefile per zipped file.

To import a stand shapefile:

  • Select the Import SHP tab

  • Navigate to the zip file that contains a shapefile of stands

  • Select “Begin” to begin the process of importing the stand shapefile to InventoryManager

  • InventoryManager will import the stand(s) and add them to the Source Stands Layer

  • The Source Stands Layer can be a layer in your cruise feature service or some other feature service. The Source Stands layer must be designated in InventoryManager.

  • It is recommended that the Source Stands layer have no required fields (all fields allow nulls) and the user attribute the Source Stands as needed in InventoryManager or when using the ‘Copy’ tool to copy stands to the Stands layer.

  • Attribute the new source stand as needed using the stand attribute edit tools in InventoryManager
